Forum URL: gitare.nethi, is there possibility that members can click on some link or icon on main forum page, which will show them only new posts since their last visit (not recent posts or threads!) ? also, is there a possibility that if then they click on those listed posts, it will lead them to the last post in thread, not on the begining of thread? Thank you.

Hi I'm afraid that the recent posts and recent threads are the only options. But could i ask in what way what you are asking for differs from what those two options offer as there may be other suggestions On the Thread View page, if they click on the Last Post cell, it will load the thread up at the first unread post. Similarly, if they click on the 'new' icon next to the thread name, it will do the same.

Hi on my last forum, I had one icon called "New posts since last visit". after clicking on it, it was showing only the list of threads with new posts. and by each of them, there was username of member who posted it and another small icon that was leading to that (last) post. that way it was faster to figure out how much new posts are there, and go directly to them. if I use Recent threads, I will see the list of all threads, and that way I don't know are those posts something that I already saw, because icons on the left side are same color for new and old posts. If I go to certain board and open all threads, I have to check icons color to find out what is new. also, If I click on "new" near to thread, sometimes I will be transferred to last post in the thread, but sometimes I will not be transferred there. then I have to go to last page of the thread, and then scroll down to last post. If I click on "Recent posts", I have to scroll down because content of those posts are visible, instead of just their thread topics. it will be practical if there I can see only the list of new posts (since my last visit), and then when I click on them to be directed to last post in certain thread.

Clicking on the new icon will take you to your first unread post of that thread. B. Clicking on the thread title will take you to the first post of that thread. C. Clicking in the Last Post cell will take you to the last post of that thread (which is the most recent post made in that thread). Clicking in the last post column takes you to the last post in the thread regardless if you have not yet read the other posts created prior to that last one.

I noticed, this option to show last post ("C") is not always working properly.

I noticed, this option to show last post ("C") is not always working properly. The last post column on the forum's homepage would not exhibit this behavior, it is only on a list of threads such as inside a board or recent topics that the last post column becomes clickable. You can mimic this empty-space-click-takes-you-to-last-post for the main page by adding the following code to the forum's main footer (or global footer if wanting to affect all sub-board listings as well). <!-- Last Post Cell Click on Homepage Takes You to Newest Post --> <script> (()=>{ document.querySelectorAll('.board.item .latest') .forEach(lp=>{ let thread = $('.js-thread__link',lp); thread.length && (lp.style.cursor='pointer') && lp.addEventListener('click',ev=>{ ev.currentTarget === ev.target && (window.location = proboards.route("thread_last_post", { thread_id: +thread.idFromClass('thread') })) }) ; }) })() </script> LIST OF BOARDS (no Last Post empty space click action)
LIST OF THREADS (has Last Post empty space click action)

thank you Chris, but I was referring to "Recent threads" page (red sphere), and then clicking on "C" field (red square) to go to last new post in that thread. sometimes, I'm not transferred to last new post in the thread.

To where are you being transferred if not the last post in the thread? Is it happening with a specific thread? Are you sure it is an empty space click and not a click on a link in the cell? Can you post a demo of this errant behavior?

it is happening randomly and to random threads, and then I'm transferred to one of the prior posts, not the first new, not the first in the thread, but one or two before the last post. I'm 100% sure that I clicked on empty space.
of course, I can post a demo. what is the best way to make screen recording like you are doing?
thank you for your support.

That looks like a browser or lagging connection issue to me. The automatic scroll begins upon page load but is abruptly interrupted before it can be completed. This could also be an Edge issue: It miscalculates the height of the completed page but gets it right when it revisits the page using locally cached elements/images. If you hit F12 to open the in-browser console, do you see any errors in there? If you have an alternate browser, do you get the same behavior in that browser as well? Related Links:

I found some error in console: first is this one, due to tracking prevention:
"6Tracking Prevention blocked access to storage for <URL>."
and the other one is this:
"Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () btloader.com/websiteconfig?bt_env=prod&o=5729616248438784&w=gitare.net:1 " I will try with browser other than Edge.
Thank you Chris, I must say that you (Proboards) are providing very good and fast support!
